Using OPT Buddy.

Last updated: September 12, 2026. In these terms, “we” means the operator of OPT Buddy under the Schedia.ai brand in California. The service is available at optbuddy.app. Creating an account or using the workspace means you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the workspace or purchase Pro.

OPT Buddy is intended for adults aged 18 or older preparing their own lawful education and immigration-related plans. You must be able to enter a binding agreement where you live. Provide accurate account information, use an email address you control, and do not let someone else use your account.

OPT Buddy provides preparation guidance, not legal advice. We are not a law firm, and no attorney client relationship is created by using the product or contacting support. We are not affiliated with USCIS, DHS, ICE, CBP, a school, or an employer. Your DSO and official agency instructions are the authorities for the steps they administer. Only a licensed immigration attorney or a representative accredited by the Department of Justice can provide legal advice within their authorization.

You remain responsible for checking your facts, official sources, current form editions, eligibility, filing deadlines, signatures, and submissions. Dates and checks depend on the information you enter and can be incomplete or wrong. AI-generated text can contain errors, omit facts, or produce text similar to another user’s result. Review every result before relying on it, sharing it, or putting it into an official form.

We do not file, sign, or submit anything on your behalf. We do not contact your DSO, employer, or a government agency for you, and we do not hold credentials for USCIS, SEVIS, the SEVP Portal, or school systems. We do not collect government filing fees. We do not promise an approval, an adjudication outcome, or faster government processing.

We do not draft substantive responses to a request for evidence or a notice of intent to deny. Urgent help and notice triage require sign-in and Pro. Triage organizes the facts and deadlines you enter using fixed rules; enhanced online RFE assistance is not built or included. A time-sensitive notice or uncertainty about status requires your DSO or qualified legal help; the service is not an emergency or deadline-monitoring substitute.

A free account is required for the workspace. While you are signed in, your case details, drafts, checklist progress and preferences automatically save to your private account in Supabase. Document files save when you select or upload them. AI drafting and document scanning require your separate action and depend on service availability and any plan limits shown before you use them. Buying Pro does not change government rules or the substance of official deadlines.

Ordinary planning, guided DSO and I-983 templates, and official sources remain Free. The standalone Extension of Stay checker is free and available without an account. Pro adds urgent help and notice triage, AI-assisted drafting and document scans.

Your browser holds a temporary working copy. Wait for “Saved” before closing the page; changes that have not finished saving may be lost on closing, reloading, losing your connection or signing out. Older encrypted device records are retained separately for optional one-time recovery. They are not automatically decrypted or copied into your account. Recovery requires the original passphrase and cannot be guaranteed. An account password reset cannot recover that passphrase. See the Privacy policy for storage, export and deletion details.

Reminder emails are not currently active. Keep an independent calendar and check official deadlines. Account confirmation and password-reset emails are separate from deadline reminders.

You retain your rights in the information and documents you provide. You give us the limited permission needed to process, store, transmit, and display that information to provide the features you choose, protect the service, and comply with applicable law, as described in the Privacy policy. This does not grant permission to sell your documents or use them for advertising.

Provide information you are entitled to use. Do not upload someone else’s private documents without authority, impersonate another person, fabricate official evidence, use the service unlawfully, attempt to access another account, disrupt security controls, distribute malicious code, or evade usage limits. We may restrict activity reasonably necessary to address abuse or a security incident.

The software, product design, and branding remain the property of their respective owners. You may use and export your own plans and drafts for lawful preparation. These terms do not give you ownership of the software or another party’s trademarks, official forms, or materials.

When available for purchase, Pro costs US$15 per month with no annual commitment. The checkout page shows the amount and any tax collected before you pay. Stripe processes the payment. We ask you to affirmatively agree to the monthly renewal terms before opening checkout and retain a record of that choice. You also confirm the agreement at checkout. Completing checkout authorizes the recurring monthly charge using your selected payment method until you cancel or pause. The app and checkout show your billing schedule.

Manage Pro on the Manage subscription page or in your Case file. The subscription page requires account sign-in and is available before case setup. Cancellation stops renewal after the current paid period; Pro remains available until the displayed end date unless the payment is refunded. Pausing stops collection for future paused periods until you resume, without accumulating charges for the paused periods. Resuming follows the subscription’s billing schedule. Review the confirmation shown by the app to verify that a change succeeded.

Cancelling or pausing Pro does not delete your free account, saved timeline, documents, or deadlines. It can change access to paid features. Account deletion is a separate action and can fail if the app cannot confirm that subscription billing has stopped. A failed payment may interrupt paid features according to the status shown in the app.

Every Pro payment made within the previous 30 days is covered by the full refund guarantee in the Refund policy. Requesting a refund and stopping a subscription are separate actions. Nothing in these terms reduces that guarantee or any refund or cancellation right that applicable law gives you.

If we change a recurring price or make a material change to paid terms, we will tell affected subscribers before it takes effect and provide the opportunity to cancel before the new charge. We will obtain any further agreement required by applicable law.

We work to keep the service useful and secure, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, successful email delivery, complete source coverage, or error-free output. Features can change, be temporarily unavailable, or depend on outside services. Where a material paid feature becomes unavailable, you retain the refund policy and any remedies required by law.

You can stop using the service and use its export and deletion controls at any time. We may suspend or end access for a material breach, unlawful activity, a security risk, or where required by law. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the action and give you a way to raise a concern or retrieve your data. Applicable data-retention obligations and the Privacy policy continue to govern information retained after access ends.

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee that it will meet every individual need. We are not responsible for government decisions, agency delays, or events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded, or excuses fraud or other conduct for which liability cannot be waived.

You can also use the contact form and save its private request link to read our reply. Do not include immigration documents, card numbers, passwords, or recovery credentials. Please describe the issue without sending immigration documents or credentials.

We will post updates here with a new date and give notice of material changes through the service or an appropriate account communication. New terms do not retroactively change completed purchases. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive your right to bring a claim in a court available under applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections continue to apply where you live.
